Workshop Description:
During this interactive workshop, students will dive into the world of artificial intelligence and coding! In this session, participants will use Teachable Machine to create their own AI models to control a video game. By capturing poses, students will start by training their own AI models. The AI model is then imported into Scratch (RAISE Playground version) to code a simple video game featuring a paddle and ball. The paddle can be controlled using poses captured through the device camera with the objective of preventing the ball from falling to the bottom of the screen.
This hands-on experience not only introduces the basics of AI and machine learning but also enhances problem-solving skills and creativity. Whether your students are beginners or have some coding experience, this workshop is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, students will be able to:
- Grasp fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and how machine learning models are trained.
- Use Teachable Machine to capture poses, and train their own AI models.
- Import trained AI models into Scratch (RAISE Playground version) and use them to control game elements.
- Write simple code in Scratch to create a functional video game featuring a paddle and ball.
- Use logical thinking and problem-solving skills to debug and improve their game.
- Explore creative ways to use AI and coding to develop interactive and engaging projects.
- Work collaboratively with peers and communicate their ideas and solutions effectively.
